‘To be sensitive is to be alive’
Vanda Scaravelli
WELCOME to Elizabeth White Studio where integrity meets sensitivity.
We work with movement techniques and kinaesthetic practises.
Our approach improves quality of movement, form, well-being, performance, teaching skills, and/or cultivates awareness.
We welcome diversity.
‘Motion and emotion, form and content, body and mind are inseparably united.’
Rudolf von Laban

During her early 20’s Elizabeth performed professionally and went on to complete a Laban Education learning how to analyse, read and write movement. On graduating she worked with independent Theatre companies. During her years at Laban she learnt first-hand the value of ‘experiential learning’ the benefits for mind, body, movement, performance, and/or personal processes.
Later, she undertook 1600 hours training with the Pilates Foundation. Continuing to develop an experiential practise, working with all of the pilates apparatus, she worked within physiotherapy clinics in London, and in North America. She has worked with range of pathologies and/or imbalances, with a particular interest in scoliosis and hyper-mobility.
On relocating to North America she opened her own movement studio in Yorkville, Toronto, as well as studying at the Gestalt Institute of Toronto.
Elizabeth works with diverse sectors and abilities, including (& non excl. to) dancers, actors, wheelchair users, musicians, pilates teachers, and professional sports players.
She closed her studio during the pandemic and often works on location. She has been teaching for many years and has travelled extensively.

The sense of freedom felt euphoric! I brought the principles and this new-found awareness into my own work, as an artist, especially in times when self doubt and insecurities kicked in, to support my creative process and deep healing.
Elizabeth helped me to re-balance, and experience new ways of moving to improve my self practise.
A wonderful and sensitive teacher, I highly recommend.
As a wheelchair person that does Pilates on a regular basis, I found the Kinaesthetic Movement (one-on-one) a fantastic method for opening up my body and mind. I highly recommend Elizabeth.
Elizabeth’s approach feels unlike anything else I’ve tried to strengthen and stabilise my hypermobility. She helped me increase awareness of muscle, bone and ligament, and ways for enhancing my self practise.
As an actor I have had a lot of experience with movement and voice coaches, and rarely have I seen someone with as acute an eye as Elizabeth. She is a Master of her Craft.
It has given me chance to stop and relax, although i feel the reflection will come later. Encouraged me to return to Yoga. New faces, new sharings, and all so good for the soul. A retreat and location to be cherished with great therapists and treatments. Two simple words, ‘Thank You.'
Elizabeth takes time and care in every session to tailor to what you need. She helped me learn specific movements for Scoliosis and exercises to relieve pain. I would highly recommend her to anyone!
Her creative process in movement had a magnetic effect drawing on primary frequencies in my music. She worked like a conductor in reverse - I was able to see a visual blueprint to my songs that allowed me to further interpret them on a kinetic level.
I had been suffering from a shoulder injury that working with an RMT did not resolve. After 2 sessions, my pain level had deeply diminished and my range of motion had increased remarkably. I highly recommend Elizabeth White Studio.
